With the help of Mike Mowbray, we have arranged the first meeting at Holyhead Golf Club (Mike’s home course) on the 30th June 2021 some members, myself included, are travelling there the day before and hopefully we will be able to meet that evening at a suitable hostelry, details of which I am leaving in the capable hands of Keith Lewis to arrange.
In the morning, just prior to the Golf we will gather for a short service of remembrance at the Memorial in Penrhos Nature Reserve to Guardsman David (Dai) Williams 56, who lost his life on the RFA Sir Galahad. We were going to do this last year but were unable to due to the cancellation of the meeting and as Wrexham has been cancelled again this year it seems even more appropriate.
The service will consist of the playing of the last post followed by a minute’s silence then the reading of the Welsh Guards Collect in English and Welsh before moving on to the Golf Club.
