1WG has always placed a great emphasis on the correct maintenance of equipment (vehicles, weapons, radio equipment, weapon sights etc) to ensure that all equipment is prepared ready for any operational deployment and that all Battalion personnel, as users, have complete faith in their equipment at all times.
The Battalions outstanding efforts with Equipment Care (EC) was rewarded in the last week of March when they were selected as winners of the LAND Forces Equipment Care Competition 2017 and were awarded the BAE Systems trophy.
