With the recent return to London District the main focus for the Battalion has shifted from combat soldiering to state, ceremonial and public duties.

On Guard
24th March 2019 marks 101 years since the Welsh Guards were awarded a Battle Honour for their actions at Bapaume. This honour was acknowledged by the Colour Party on Queen’s Guard, who carry a wreath atop the Colours.

However as first and foremost Infantry soldiers it is imperative that all core infantry skills are maintained, developed and practised.

Members of the newly formed Number 3 Company Recce Platoon have deployed this week into the Pirbright training area to work on their individual skills and drills. This included contact drills, close targets reconnaissance and patrol reports, all under the watchful eye of the Recce CSgt and Company Sergeant Major.
